I'm so sorry to read about your Play Kitty. Like you, I lost my kitty this year when we said good-bye that last time in the vet's office. It's true - like you I will never get her image out of my mind, but I take great comfort knowing she will have my image with her always as well. I held her all the way thru - I never left her side, as she never left mine. Taking away her terrible pain was the last, best gift I could give her in repayment for all the years of comfort and love she gave us. After all those times she made me feel my own pain less... God bless you and Play Kitty, and a little black fluffball in heaven named Miss Tickles...

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so hard to say goodbye to a beloved pet, and even harder when you're making the medical decision to end care.

Our cat was diagnosed with renal failure almost two years ago and we had to decide whether we would do the daily IV fluids/medication thing with him. After three days we actually decided to stop. He wasn't getting better and he was terrified of us. I couldn't imagine putting him through that kind of daily fear in exchange of a half life. He wasn't allowed outside any more or anything.

Making that choice was brutal, but I know it was the right one for him. (Though back then I thought I was being selfish.) I'm fortunate that the sedative made him go to sleep, so that final shot wasn't as traumatizing for me...

Keeping you and Rosie in my thoughts today.

It's so hard, watching them go....remember, though, you gave her an exit without pain, with out sickness.

That's a really big gift you gave your Rosie.

We've been having old kitty discussions here too - my old lady cat is 19, and beginning to slow.

What a great picture with your little big man and your play kitty!
