My husband, before I met him, had a stroke and was left with a left-sided paralysis. He was in a wheelchair. He was denied disability and had to fight for it, even though it was proven he could not return to work of any kind.
He eventually got it. We were told that most people are denied the first time.

I was denied the first time, so my husband right away looked for a lawyer. Took me a year to finally get my disability. But it would have been worse without the lawyer.

Just discovered your blog and wanted to say good luck! Its awful that thoes who really need it, are denied. I am waiting on my date with the court after being denied twice already. Dont ever give up! I am so sorry that you were denied. I am looking for a lawyer at the moment to help me get through this, and your post has really convinced me that this is the best route to go. Thanks for posting when this must be such a hard time for you.

Oh, I am so sorry. What’s even more frustrating (to me) is that I personally know people who were NOT denied their social security benefits who are perfectly fine. Hopefully, it’ll come the second time around.
