Win a Beautiful Piece of Art!

Robin Maria Pedrero happens to be a fellow Tweeter that I follow.  I honestly don’t remember following her, I have followed over 2,200 people, but one day I went to Twitter and at the top of the page was her tweet listing a piece of artwork called “Social Network”:

I had to click on a title like that!  And when I did I saw her work, besides the title, just how beautiful it was I had to possess it!  It is so cliche to say that her art “spoke to me”, but it did!

That was no news to Robin who said, “I find many people turn to my art to feel uplifted. Several women with chronic illnesses have told me the relief and comfort they feel having my art to look at in their space or even in their stream on Face Book.

Starla's Eggs

The winner will have their choice of anything in Robin’s Etsy shop up to a $25 value.  I am also pleased to say that even if one does not win, Robin’s prices are budget friendly too.

The contest will run until Tuesday, August 30th at 11:59 p.m. EST, and there are three ways to win:

1. Leave a comment

2. Tweet out this contest and let me know you have done it by entering again and saying something like “I tweeted out this contest.”

3.  Put this contest on your Face Book and let me know you have done it by entering again and saying something like “I put this contest on my Face Book.”

Therefore, if you do all three, you will have three, separate entries in my contest, or three comments.  I cannot be any more clearer, I think, and I cannot be responsible for babysitting my entrants, although I do try, sometimes.  If you did three things it is your job to let me know you did.  Okay?  Okay!  Whew, I hate to get mean, even for a little bit, but this is a contest after all and it is serious business.

Good luck!

Congratulations to dysfunctional mom!  Her #4 entry was chosen at random by Custom Random Number Generator at

Thank you to all who entered!  Even though you may not have won, I do encourage you to check out Robin’s Etsy store or her Face Book page.  For a very reasonable price you can bring a lot of beauty to your home!

Also, many thanks to the fabulous Robin Maria Pedrero for allowing me the honor of featuring her art on my blog!

About mamasick

Emily Cullen is a pen-name. I suffer from chronic illnesses and diseases which include Bipolar Disorder, Asthma, Diabetes and Fibromyalgia. I had battled Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis but there is no longer evidence of me having these diseases and my Rheumatologist has declared them to be "burnt out" of my system. I am separated from my husband, “Grant”. Our son, “Tyler” was born in September of 2006 and suffers from tics and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and is delayed in fine and gross motor skills. In my blog I seek to let sick moms know that they are not the only ones going through this, and to educate people about what can happens when one becomes catastrophically ill. I also strive to break down stereotypes of what a “Welfare Mom” is like. Anything that I have gone through due to being sick, is written on the pages of Mama Sick.

I am not to computer savy. I don;t tweet so I will be like one of the birds in the painting and “tweet, tweet, tweet that this is a wonderful thing you are doing. I love Robin’s work. She is magical in her artwork always including little extra things in her paintings that I love to look f or and than ask Robin if I was correct. I too went through a huge Social Security Nightmare but God sent me a wonderful attorney and I used the information from my own doctor’s. I was a pharmacist for 15 years and then I got myocarditis, a blood clot in my left leg that damaged my leg. Then my husband divorced me. I went back to work for a retail store and the fibromyalgia began. Nightmare on Elm Street was nothing compared to all the things that I experienced on the job plus what was beginning to form with the aches and pain and feeling like ants were biting me all over my body. I was dropping bottles, had a hard time typing etc., I was sent to a neurologist and then to a surgeon for carpal tunnel and after studies were finished, I had the nerves on both hands and elbows readjusted. Then I had a disc replaced on my neck because it had worn down. I have a piece of caadaver bone in my neck with a titanium brace and screws., I still hurt.
I went back to the hospital for a few more blood clots and removal of gall bladder. Insomnia is terrible. Depression, Irritable bowel. I get hot and then I am cold. Sometimes my body will hurt from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. What the heck is this disease? By the way,. I posted the site on my FB page. BE sure to become familiar with your medications especially drug and food interactions. Take care of yourself. I will keep you in my prayers.

Stand in line, Janna! lol I love Robin’s work, too!!! Agree with Dale Anne, Robin’s work is awesome. Whimsical and witty, yet is sheer poetry. Thank you so much Emily for this chance to win one of Robin Pedrero’s prints!!! I just hope I can remember to dot all the “i’s” and cross all the “t’s”… :/ …crossing fingers… ~I read your bio, and am so sorry to hear you have an autoimmune disease. Please check @ Google: Candida. I was diagnosed (wrongly..) with Lupus in ’91, & developed rheumatoid arthritis, plus diagnosed earlier with Fibromyalgia. Long story, cut to chase, everything was Candida! I went on anti-Candida diet, and saw results immediately! Was a miracle! Please e-mail me for particulars as I haven’t seen a website yet that tells you everything to do/what not to do! x x x

Okay…..trying for the fourth time to get this to post….it doesn’t seem to want to recognize my website so I have removed it….hope that works. I love Robin’s artwork because she has such a loose, free style that I have never been able to accomplish in my own artwork. Thanks for the opportunity to win one of her lovely pieces.

I have been following Robin Maria and her artwork on Facebook as well and find it very uplifting and beautiful! I’d love to buy a piece but of course you know how that goes… always other priorities for spending money than on artwork…! I am very impressed about how you and your husband remain so positive despite your several chronic illnesses….I am having some issues myself (regular severe migraines, arthritis) and find it hard to remain positive, but am trying to do the same thing 🙂 Nice to have found you this way…. 🙂 Birgitt
