Utter Frustration

On January 22nd my husband and I emailed our family doctor two letters that would help us with getting food stamps and appealing my disabilty turn-down and starting my husband’s disability case.  We literally wrote the letters for him, all he had to do was to print it out on his letterhead and sign it.

Today is February 8th and has this been done? No!  Have I called, has my husband called several times?  Yes!

Not to pick on this one doctor, for the most part they all seem to be this way.  I know they are busy, but literally these letters make the difference between how fast we will burn through our money, possibly leading to bankrupcy and how fast we can get our disability processes restarted and started.

I honestly don’t get it.  My only wish is that a doctor or a friend of a doctor would see this post and realize that when we ask for these letters, they are needed as soon as possible and are very serious for patient’s cases.

About mamasick

Emily Cullen is a pen-name. I suffer from chronic illnesses and diseases which include Bipolar Disorder, Asthma, Diabetes and Fibromyalgia. I had battled Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis but there is no longer evidence of me having these diseases and my Rheumatologist has declared them to be "burnt out" of my system. I am separated from my husband, “Grant”. Our son, “Tyler” was born in September of 2006 and suffers from tics and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and is delayed in fine and gross motor skills. In my blog I seek to let sick moms know that they are not the only ones going through this, and to educate people about what can happens when one becomes catastrophically ill. I also strive to break down stereotypes of what a “Welfare Mom” is like. Anything that I have gone through due to being sick, is written on the pages of Mama Sick.
