Tuesdays With Tyler: Three-Year-Old Rallies From Meltdown to Enjoy Trip to Liberty Science Center

Courtesy tickets were provided to me by the Liberty Science Center.
My family along with our friend visited the Liberty Science Center on Saturday.  We headed first to the center’s popular exhibition “A T. Rex Named Sue”, which is a cast of the most complete Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil ever found.  I liked that you could get [...]

Tuesdays With Tyler: Feeling Like a “Normal” Mom

On Saturday Tyler had a birthday party to go to which started at 11:00.  Ugh, mornings are very hard for me.  The three of us were supposed to go but Grant wasn’t feeling well.  I think my depression and anxiety meds are starting to kick in and my pain wasn’t too bad so I decided [...]

Tuesdays With Tyler: Results of Potty Training Boot Camp

It was a rough three days but we all managed to get through it with Tyler having less accidents and Tyler coming up with gems such as, “Pee pee coming out!” and “I’m listening to my body.”
I sent him to school in Pull-ups today but spoke with his teacher and she said we should try [...]

Potty Training Boot Camp, Day 1

As this is a three day weekend, my husband and I decided to just put Tyler in underwear and see what happens.  The score being 10 ACCIDENTS to 5 successful trips to the potty.  This is harder than when he was a newborn.  After a while we stripped him down to just his underwear, and [...]

Potty Training or Bust

My nearly three-and-a-half-year-old son is still not potty trained.  He’s been in Pull-ups since last June, sometimes he gets it and sometimes he doesn’t.  Sometimes he would make great strides only to regress.  We’ve tried the stars leading to prizes, chocolates as rewards and ignoring it altogether to take the pressure off him.
I wouldn’t mind [...]

Tuesdays With Tyler: “Shut Up”

The other day for no particular reason Tyler looked at me and said, “Shut up, Mommy.”  I was shocked at my three-year-old’s language.  Where had he learned that from?  We didn’t say “shut up” at home.  Was a teacher at daycare telling him to “shut up”?
I said, “Tyler, saying “shut up” to someone is a [...]

Utter Frustration

On January 22nd my husband and I emailed our family doctor two letters that would help us with getting food stamps and appealing my disabilty turn-down and starting my husband’s disability case.  We literally wrote the letters for him, all he had to do was to print it out on his letterhead and sign it.
Today [...]

Denied!

One of the things that has kept me from writing and has added to my depression and anxiety that I had posted about prior is that I have been denied my Social Security disability benefits. So many hours or hard work, chasing doctors to get in their own paperwork, doing everything right as followed by [...]

New Jersey Moms Blog today.  It gives a good explanation of where I’ve been for the past few weeks. Despite my struggle with severe depression and anxiety I am going to try to get back to posting here more regularly.
